November 4-6, Makerspace Nanaimo is proud to be hosting a weekend of gaming in conjunction with Extra Life ( http://www.extra-life.org/ ) to help raise funds for cancer treatment and research, benefitting BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24 hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $22 million for local CMN Hospitals.
We’ll be starting with our regularly scheduled Board Game Night from 7-11pm Friday, and then run from 10am-10pm Saturday and 10am-6pm Sunday with table space for board games, laptops, and a Wii U hooked up to the projector.
There will be a live stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/tracefunc ) the room at large, plus potentially whatever video we can pass through to the projector. Most importantly, there will be a donation tracker on the stream, updated as the day goes by.
The space will be open for all drop ins who want to come by and join us (or just provide some moral support), but I also encourage any members who plan to be present for a majority of the time to consider signing up and joining our team:
For extra information, there’s a planning thread ( https://forums.makerspacenanaimo.org/viewtopic.php?id=380 ) on our forums, you don’t need to be a Makerspace member to register an account and join the conversation.
