For our second year, Makerspace Nanaimo is proud to be hosting a weekend of gaming in conjunction with Extra Life ( http://www.extra-life.org/ ) to help raise funds for cancer treatment and research, benefitting BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24 hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for local CMN Hospitals.
This year, we’re running the weekend before Halloween, starting with our regular Friday Night Board Games Oct 27 6pm-10pm, and continuing Saturday 10am-10pm and Sunday 10am-6pm. Absolutely everyone welcome, we’ve got lots of board games, PC games, and possibly some consoles to go around.
We’ll be live streaming the event at https://go.twitch.tv/tracefunc if anyone wants to watch, and will be hosting some Jackbox at 6pm Saturday night for audience participation! Most importantly, we’ll also be running a donation tracker with live updates throughout the weekend.
For extra information, there’s a planning thread ( https://forums.makerspacenanaimo.org/viewtopic.php?id=495 ) on our forums, you don’t need to be a Makerspace member to register an account and join the conversation.
